Case Study: Residence – Manhattan Beach, CA

In this residence UMB is used with a painted wood base. Keeping the base and the wall the same color maintains the simplicity of the contemporary design throughout the home.

In the third image, the UMB is used as a shadow line at the stair/wall joint. Notice how this subtle detail enhances the definition of the geometric forms.

Notice in the fourth image that the pocket door appears to have a delicate wooden header spanning the opening. In fact the Tektrim door track is not only spanning the door opening, it is also providing lateral stiffness to both the left and right wing walls on either side of the door opening. Glass spans the entire top of the door wall providing a light and airy feel to the entire room.
